Dr. Tredwell is currently Head of the Paediatric Orthopaedic Division within the Department of Orthopaedics. His major practice interests are reconstruction of spinal deformity, paediatric hip, and paediatric trauma. Research areas of interest include spinal reconstruction and the pathogenesis of spinal collapse, blood loss and blood loss prevention strategies intra-operatively, and clinical outcome measures for both spinal reconstruction and trauma. He is a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, the Scoliosis Research Society, as well as the Canadian Orthopaedic Association. Educational initiatives include the development of the Cross-Canada Paediatric Spine Rounds, which is a virtual round and think tank held quarterly. Dr. Tredwell has a strong interest in medical ethics, especially areas relating to patient autonomy (both treat decision-making and research) as well as the distribution of scarce resources. He is also Deputy Chair of the Department of Orthpaedics.
