Dr. Nelson practices a mix of general orthopaedics and paediatric orthopaedics in Prince George, British Columbia. He completed orthopaedic residency training at the University of British Columbia and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2003. He completed a fellowship in paediatric orthopaedics at the Royal Alexandria Hospital for Children in Sydney, Australia in 2005.

Dr. Nelson is a lecturer and clinical instructor with the University of British Columbia and Northern Medical Programme. His research interests include use of bisphosphonate medications in orthopaedic applications.
