Dr. Beauchamp has been with the Orthopaedics Department at BC's Children's Hospital and the University of British Columbia since 1978. He is a graduate of the UBC Medical School. He also has affiliations with Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children, Kootenay Lake Hospital, and Surrey Memorial Hospital. He conducts regular orthopedic clinics for children at The Centre for Ability in Vancouver. The focus of his practice is primarily neuromuscular diseases, specializing in meningomyelocele and cerebral palsy. Richard has recently initiated a Botox program in the Department of Orthopaedics for management of children with spasticity. He is also the Medical Director for the Shriners Gait Lab located at Sunny Hill. His role there includes patient selection for assessment, clinical interpretation of the analyses and research for children with various walking difficulties.
