A highlight of the academic year is the resident retreat. The retreat occurs at the end of the summer anatomy program and provides the residents with a rare opportunity to interact socially as a group, free of any clinical duties. Each year the residents organize an event of their choice. One or two faculty are invited and participate in the activities with the residents. The retreat has strengthened the cohesiveness of the group and is highly valued. Staff are invited by the residents and view the event as a privilege. In the past the residents have gone on white water rafting trips and also spent a weekend salmon fishing at a Vancouver Island fishing lodge. For more information, email: elizabeth.denton@vch.ca
