Goals and characteristics
This fellowship offers clinical exposure to arthroscopic and open reconstruction of the Knee and Shoulder, with an emphasis is on ligament reconstruction and biologic techniques in cartilage resurfacing. Preceptor based, the fellowship also provides exposure to the treatment and care of a wide range of athletes including team coverage. The fellowship is designed to provide a complete experience in surgical procedures, but fellows will also be prepared to sit the CASM diploma examination in Sport Medicine at the completion of their training (required to work as part of the medical support for Canadian national teams).

Academic responsibilities include participation in weekly rounds, and teaching for both resident and undergraduate students. Each fellow will be involved in a research project with the ultimate goal of publication and presentation at major scientific meetings.
